Life Isn’t Fair

I just read an article on InsideHigherEd.com called "Admissions Shocker: Life Isn’t Fair" that acknowledges that college admissions is not a fair process — mainly because objective fairness is impossible to achieve when a college’s mission defines their desirable student qualities as the admissions director’s main goal. For example, some college’s have a preference for in-state residents more than out-of-state residents as a rule, it’s not fair, but it is their preference.
